wow. college life is different. being a freshman, i can see that there is a LOT to learn about this place and the students here. i'm going to IE, by the way. and i walked from my school to my dad's office. now i'm on his computer. making a racket with all my typing... OOPS!
anyway. as i was saying. people have very different reactions to my name. my name is LOVELYN. say it.
on every "first day" (of anything) people often mispronounce my name.
- lofflyn
- lo-ve-lyn
- lob-e-line
- love-line (like it's some match-up phone service)
- once, a man called me DOLPHIN...

- and they decided to change my race and call me ROSLYN...
after awhile, they get it. it's love-lyn... two simple syllables. love-- lin.. easy peasy.
sometimes, they just don't get it. a few of my teachers have called me LO-VE-LYN for the entire year. and more.

so today, my lecturer (omigosh, i can't believe i have lecturers instead of teachers now!) pronounced my name flawlessly... love--lyn. perfect.
i was happy, but only for a fraction of a second, because the rest of the class (mostly guys) began to laugh at my name. ouch. they sniggered and shoved at each other. sigh... i wish i weren't a freshman.
the girls fluttered about excitedly in their seats. i like to think that maybe they like my name. i could be wrong. :S
anyway, i'll spare you the details. the facilities and stuff here are excellent. the students, well... i hope i can fit in soon. :)
wish me luck!
